Jade + Jake || A Townsville Wedding

Ahhh tequila, the start of many relationships.

A few years back in 2012 after being dragged to The Cactus Saloon in Townsville by friends to go dancing Jade found herself in awe of a tall, dark haired man with a great smile. But of course being a bit of an introvert Jade as feeling a little shy, that is until tequila stepped in and levelled the playing field. She was instantly attracted to Jake’s humour and kindness, neither of which he has lost over the years. What happened next I can’t say is common amongst tequila drinkers but it most certainly did the job in this case, Jade proceeded to teach Jake how to fold origami cranes out of drink receipts. He wasn’t great but this only the beginning of their blossoming love. From that one night on Flinders Street, Jake and Jade proceeded to fall in love over many walks, gelatos, coffees, late nights texts and Japanese dinners.

Nine years later the two finally tied the knot at the Hervey’s Range Heritage Tea Rooms, with a reception dinner at A Touch of Salt and it could not have been more perfect.

Nestled amongst the gums, under an arbor adorned with the most incredible flowers from Ivy and Ann Floral Studios Jade and Jake were surrounded by their closet loved ones and their boisterous three year old as they promised to continue their love story, officiated by Lynda Ross and witnessed by the bride and groom’s mothers.

Jade applied her creative touch to all areas of this beautiful wedding and I am completely in awe of her talent.

The sign at the start of the aisle was hand painted by her.
Her dress was sown by her.
Her jacket was sown by her.

So much beauty, personalisation and attention to detail. A symbol of the day and no doubt how much love goes into her life and her family.

The love between these two is heartwarming and even after nine years, one child and another on the way, these two are still deeply in love with one another.

I was honoured to witness this on such a special and intimate day.
