Bridget + Andrew || A Burdekin Wedding

On September 11, Bridget and Andrew wed on her family’s mango farm in the Burdekin. Anyone who has ever planned or helped out with an at home wedding knows that it is bittersweet. On one hand there is nothing more special than taking the next step in your life where you grew up, on the other, there is the work load. Of course in the long run the good outweighs the bad and as it all comes together you remember why you did this in the first place.

Images set to music have a special place in my heart, which is why this slideshow deserves your attention, trust me on this!

(There might even be a couple of extra images in there. )

Bridget and Andrew met in Townsville at the end of 2012, however it wasn’t love at first sight and it wasn’t until another meeting later that they formed a connection and got to know one another. Over uni holidays the pair would meet up in either Townsville or Clare and it was during this time that they, in Bridget’s words, “became obsessed with each other and really got to know one another”.

Bridget’s family mango farm was the perfect backdrop for the weekend celebration and that the planning of the wedding came together so seamlessly was a blessing. The couple are currently living in Brisbane and with only a few months notice were able to pull off the event remotely, lining up only the best vendors. The floral beauty is the work of the ever talented Oh Poppi. The bride and her lovely ladies beauty was only enhanced by make up from MACBEAUTY by Arianna McNamara and hair by Hair By Shannon. Of course the day would not have been complete without the offical, legal side of the wedding and the fabulous Anne Franzmann Marriage Celebrant took care of that. That evening guests dined on a delicious, shared table feast by Michles Catering and Events. Let’s of course not forget that cake (wow!) which was made with much love by Bridget’s friend and brilliant baker, Amanda from For Bakes Sake.

Having grown up on the farm and done the hard work required of it, Bridget was a little concerned that it would not be beautiful enough. She didn’t need to worry. Taking notes from their Mediterranean heritage the simple, yet elegant styling transformed this working mango farm in to a spectacular backdrop for this wedding where guests enjoyed each others company, celebrating the newly weds and dancing the night away.
