2017 || The Beginning
“So, I close
my eyes
to old ends
and open
my heart to
new
beginnings.”
I had been practicing for this moment my whole life. It is what I have always wanted, even as a small child. I just had to meander along the way.
In 2017 I took the leap into professional photography, I took on the scared task of recording other people's memories. For me, this was a daunting task. Some will tell you they are just photos, it's not brain surgery and they wouldn't be wrong. However, when memories get lost and people leave those simple snapshots take on a totally different meaning. One thing is for certain, you will NEVER get this day back again. So, I take my role as photographer pretty seriously.
I got to meet the most heartwarming people, the kind that leave you feeling powerful, divine and inspired. I got to hang out with old friends and see them and their existence in a totally different light. These families and couples may have commissioned me but I was able to gain so much from them, that it hardly feels like a job and more of a calling.
Meer words hardly seem enough but to all those I photographed in 2017 - thank you, from the bottom of my heart, thank you. You will never know how much your support and moving reviews mean to me, your trust in my vision is beyond words.
I can't wait to capture more of the tenderness, joy, and affection that I witnessed last year, in 2018. I am constantly stirred by the raw emotion and real moments that I am privileged to be apart of during a session.
