Emily || An Ayr Mother

On a recent trip to Townsville we continued south to Ayr and this is where I was warmly welcomed into the home of Emily and her two, soon to be, three children for a beautiful motherhood session.

I highly recommend you book in for a shoot like this, and yes I’m aware I could be a bit biased. There is no pressure, there is no stress about what to wear or where to go and the water gives enough distraction that your nerves are settled. It also calls for your pretty special photos that show nothing but love and connection.

Stevie || A Townsville Newborn

We weren’t supposed to do this shoot until December but Stevie made her arrival a little earlier than planned but in perfect timing and at a mere one week old, I was in Townsville. Pip told me that “she sleeps 21 hours a day, so if she doesn’t change in a day, these photos will be a breeze” so of course in the true fashion of child, Stevie did not sleep once in the whole 90 minutes I was there, however, she only made one teeny tiny little squeak.

Jovana + Kids || A Townsville Family

When I look through these photos I see the same tenderness I felt when I first read Jovana earnest expression of love. I see a very cheeky girl who’s smile, laugh and personality is so affectionate you can’t help but fall in love. But most importantly I see a Mumma who’s devotion is palpable. I hope you can see that too, then my job will be complete.

Through sudden and unexpected changes in Hayley and the kid’s lives she has come to understand the importance of photographs and memories. Both kids are in their early teenage years so I understand their apprehension in wanting to join along with Mum’s requests but as I look through these photos now I know that given time they will also understand the investment that has been made.

Cheriese + Boys || A Townsville Family

I am pretty certain that there could be no better location. Cheriese and her three boys spent the day revelling in the spring time warmth at Alma Bay, soaking up the joys of salt water and sand. It was early afternoon when I joined them and the bay was mostly ours, the sea breeze cool and refreshing and the sun rays warm and golden. We climbed rocks and explored their hidden secrets. There were many cuddles and much love shared. I learned of a mother’s love that would move mountains and raise glorious men. The boys outwardly showed that photos were not their thing but occasionally through this facade I would glimpse the excitement of being up to record their mother’s memories*.
