This is one lucky boy, with two Mummas that are perfectly infatuated with him and not at all stressed by life with a newborn. I was truely in awe of the love that surrounded this new family and I am immensely grateful that I was able to witness this.

I am always honoured to be invited into a family’s space but after hearing about the strength and love of Hayley’s family, I felt incredibly touched. But let’s be real here and let me tell you that this session was not without it’s dramas.
I headed to a secluded area near Kewarra Beach that I found on Google Maps to meet Hayley and her two beautiful kids. I parked and trekked through a muddy track (some what similar to Cape York’s Telegraph Track), I braved unleashed, unaccompanied dogs only to discover that Hayley and I were at different beaches … doh!

I was recently asked to photograph this wonderful family who had travelled to celebrate not only an engagement but also the christening of their newest family member. There were nine kids only and despite the distance that is between many of them I could not help but notice the similarities between each family unit (and not just the physical ones). It stirred nostalgic emotions in me as I remembered my own childhood and similar events.

However, despite the heat and the (understandably) cranky baby, this family made magic. They are a young family with limitless devotion for each other. They have a lifetime together and I know that as this tribe grows, maybe in numbers or maybe in affection, they will be surrounded by all that they need.
